What type of bike do you want? What kind of riding do you want to do? Have you taken any riding courses? How much is too expensive? Are you any good with tools and minor repairs? Do you have any friends who ride? If you start out on a zip-splat you might scare the be-jesus out of yourself and others. Why not learn to ride an older, milder machine and work your way up to the sportier models? As a learner, beginner and new rider you'll probably dump your bike more than you want while in the learning curve. You can make all sorts of mistakes on a bike, and most of them can be awful. Or worse... Just remember: Any fool can grab throttle- any fool can ride a straight road. Best bet is start out slowly and work your way up to the level you want. Motorcycle riding is inherently a dangerous activity. Try to learn as many skills as you can. Practice, practice, practice. Becoming a safe and proficient rider takes courage, foresight, and skill. Yamaha Royal Star 500. Used will be less, and these are pretty nice bikes. |
