Carrying a gun on a motorcycle without ccw permit, but you don't want it out in plain view for people to see?

Question: Carrying a gun on a motorcycle without ccw permit, but you don't want it out in plain view for people to see?

Basically I own a motorcycle as my only means of transportation. I don't have a ccw permit, as I have no need to carry around a concealed weapon. But I do hunt and target shoot on occasion, and I don't want to have a gun out in the open to get stopped by the cops/ cops called on me by every anti- gun nut in the world. So basically is it even possible to do this? I know in a car or a truck you can put it in your trunk unloaded. Would it be legal to place it unloaded in the saddle bags. With ammunition in another storage separate from the gun? I live in delaware, and it costs 250 dollars for a CCW permit class, and there is no garuntee you will get the permit because its up to the local PD if you can have one. (and no, im not a felon, nor have I even had a traffic stop).

An unloaded revolver or pistol in a saddle bag is not considered to be carrying a concealed weapon. It's the same as having it in the trunk of your car. A long gun (shotgun or rifle) should be carried in an appropriate carrying case and secured to the bike so it's obvious that it is just being transported, and not kept ready for use.

Need state/ area u live in to give accurate answer........some states have open carry others allow for loaded as long as its in a compartment...... my advice would b to get ur concealed carry permit........even if u don't want it or need it ....just to support ppl working against all the anti-gun nuts.....

I guess you are going to have to prioritize what you love most. hauling a rifle or shotgun on a bike would not be good. If it is a pistol, depending on your state, in ohio it is legal to walk down the street with a sidearm open. If it is a pistol I suggest putting pistol unloaded in bags, clip or bullets another pouch of some source. that would be legal in ohio. a old beat up hunting truck isn't all that expensive really? a ccw is easy to get unless you are a fellon!

Yes, as long as it not concealed on your person or clothing you are legal.
