I was told that i did not need my bike restricted if it had no modifications done to it to get more power out of it like how it came like that from the manufacture or dealer with no mods done to it

From the dealer your bike should be restricted for the UK (31 mph) If you de-restrict it your bike will be illegal and your insurance and MOT will be void. Your bike can be taken off you and crushed if the Police catch you speeding or if your bike is checked by them for any reason. Which could then lead to losing your licence . It has to be restricted for the UK so if your buying an un-restricted bike from abroad or a friend that is still illegal. Restricting is speed related so the quest for more power however you try to get it is illegal.

At 16 you're limited to 50cc and a top speed of 50km/ h - so if it can't exceed that then no. But at the end of the day how is anyone going to know if your moped can exceed that speed unless you have a glaringly obvious modification - most just involve altering the exhaust ;-)

If you are 16 years old, the law says you can only ride a bike with an engine of less than 50cc, which is restricted to 31 mph (50 km/ h). If it has been de-restricted, it is illegal for you to ride it. Simple as...
