STOP! Step away from that Ninja. There is no "oil pan " and a correct repair involves neither "putty sealer " or "tightin [sp] the bolts ". Clean off the engine if you have not done so already. Determine EXACTLY where you have a leak. Referring to the link below will aid you. Decide if there is a gasket that needs replacing or if you have some other cause. Do not tighten bolts on this engine willy nilly. You risk stripping threads and creating a much bigger defect. Buy or borrow a torque wrench. Determine which bolts you want to CHECK. Find the Torque specifications in a manual, ask the dealer or look on line some where and apply the SPECIFIED amount of torque to the bolts. This will keep you from stripping things out warping the cases or binding up a bearing in a misguided attempt to stop the leak. There is a right tool and material for every job and it's never "putty sealer ". Good luck, carry on. |
