What about the rear belt?????? GORT....There WERE a FEW 84 Shovels....84 was the cross-over year for Shovels & Evos....Early 84 (E84) were Shovels, Late 84 (L84) were Evos!!!! |

84 is evo blockhead, shovels died in 83. but anyway take the front wheel off first so that it will not roll |

You replace it just like a chain, sort of. Remove the rear tire and slide it past the axle and off and put the new one in place and set the proper tension. |

First thing is to go get a factory service manual.A lot of stuff has to be removed(rear wheel, primary drive and inner primary cover)to get the belt off. |

I hade a 84 shovel and you have to remove inner primary of coarse and drop the swing arm to change the belt. And by the way there was 1985 shovelheads for police bikes only. I hade one of those to. |

I have an 1984 1/ 2 FXST. It has the chain drive Evo motor, can't help you out on a belt. |
