Is this an off road bike.. or is there lights & indicators & the like on it?? 4 stroke motor has valves in the head.. 2 stroke dosnt.. so should be easy to tell.. if theres no lights then its just wires from the magneto/ points to the ignition coil.. (via kill switch to stop the bike)

Unless you have alot of experience with bikes. Do not attempt this yourself. Chances are you will do something wrong with the wiring or something and it will break and you won't know what's wrong. best idea is just to take it to a bike shop with a garage and get them to do it.

2 stoke engine does not have valves in the head, 4 stroke does. So after pulling the top cover off the engine-should be anywhere from 4-12 bolts securing it, look. If you see valves it is 4 stroke, if not it is 2 stroke. Do you even know whose make engine is in the bike? What is your definition of a "mini chopper " is it a lawn mower based powerplant that has maybe up to 50cc of displacement-or is it a real motorcycle with a powerplant made by Honda, Yamaha, Harley, S &S that is in a shortened-ie chopped frame " Without that info you will be stuck trying to get a proper service manual for the engine, or for the bike. Look around and see if you see a name-Briggs and Stratton, Tecumsha, etc. And if you are near NE Tenn. bring it by my shop I will try to help you out-at the least id the engine and give you a run down on potential problems
