How do i stop at a stop light on a motorcycle?
Ok I've had a few bikes over the past few years, but I've never thought of what might be the best way to stop at a stop light. Here's what I do, and then you can tell me if it's a good or bad idea.When i know I have to stop ahead, I squeeze the clutch lever all the way in and let my bike begin to coast. i slowly start to brake as I shift slowly down through the gears. By the time i get to the stop light or stop sign, i'm still coasting with the clutch all the way in, and i'm in first gear. I stop completely, touch my left foot down, wait, then take off. If it's a red light and i'll be there for a while, I'll hop up into neutral. Mainly, I'm just interested in knowing if pulling the clutch all the way in is essentially the same thing as putting it into neutral. might save a bit of gas, might save wear on the engine?Let me know what you think.
German motorcycle helmet?
I'm looking for a German style motorcycle helmet. I ordered one but it sits too high on my head and doesn't look right. It's much thicker than what I expected like Darth Vader sized as opposed to trim barely bigger than your head like you see in the movies. I would like one that is more low profile

I am sick of people talking crap because someone wants to NOT have helmet hair, or when someone wants to wear something stylish while riding.Some people have motorcycles because they are way cheaper at the pump. Some enjoy the feel of the ride. Who cares about your stupid harley? You do what you do, and let others get on with their lives instead of calling them sissies and fags. Motorcycles are so overrated.The only reason I prefer a motorcycle as apposed to a moped, is cause mopeds just look ridiculous, and I don't want tiny wheels and my feet right in front of me.So stop insulting people because you think you're so awesome cause you ride for the right reasons or whatever. A motorcycle is a mode of transportation that doesn't spend as much gas as a car. Get over yourselves.

Approximate cost for teen motorcycle insurance?
hey, im 17 years old and live in Ontario, i recently got my G2 but cannot find a way to get car insurance cheap enough to actually warrant getting a car. I was wondering if anyone has any ballpark answer as to how much motorcycle insurance is at my age? every google search i do says " you should ask your insurance broker" , well i will, but i just want to see if its even worth looking at or if its going to be like $300 a month like car insurance.the bike would probably just be like a cheap used early 1990's bike, nothing special.thanks
What is a good beginner motorcycle?
I am interested in getting a bike. I would like a reliable brand and one that would be good for beginners. Also, I need a smaller one, somewhere around 500 600 cc. I would like some advice...thanks
Why are the turn signals on my motorcycle not flashing?
I have a 1978 Honda CB125s in great condition with a 6v electrical system. While there are some carb issues I'm working out, I'm concerned with my turn signals. All the bulbs work, but when you flick the switch they slowly turn on and stay on. They seem a little brighter and mildly quicker to light when the engine's running with a little throttle. I've fully charged the 2yo battery, and replaced the flasher relay with an NOS item. What else should I check or flat out replace?

Motorcycle jacket that has hearts or spades on the sleeves...?
I seen these motorcycle jackets online about a year ago. They came in several different colors. Each color had a different emblem running down the sleeve... one was hearts, one was spades, one might have been diamonds. I thought they were icon jackets, but now I can't find anywhere.
Newbie Motorcycle Questions?
I'm looking into buying my first vehicle and wanted to know some of the facts on owning and maintaining a motorcycle because it seems like one good option for me.First what should I look for in a bike to start? I'm really looking towards a cruiser rather than a sports bike as they seem more comfortable to ride but I've heard that they can be a problem for beginners due to their weight.Next is maintenance. Are they pretty much like cars with needing oil changes at 3,000 miles, tires inflated, etc.? And what else is needed to keep them from breaking down?Lastly for training and insurance. I'm in Southern California, are there places to learn how to ride and care for a motorcycle for free or cheap? And how is the insurance rates compared to driving a car, is it more expensive or less and would taking the classes help lower it?Thanks for all the help in advance.

Hey Yahoo Community, I was considering buying an '06 Kawasaki Ninja 250 as a starter bike, and well it's in less than perfect condition. Was laid down in an parking and has been " fixed." The bike still has a clear title, however I just want to get a second opinion on the bikes mechanical soundness. I'd rather waste $50 $100 on an inspection than to waste $1.5k on a faulty bike. Motorcycle leaking gas?? *With Pictures*?
Ok, I added pictures this time. I got some great answers, but my problem is I don't know all the technical terms yall were telling me about. Like a petcock and stuff. I'm sure I will learn eventually . My 1998 Kawasaki Vulcan classic 800cc is leaking gas out of the bottom of my bike. I'm an inexperienced rider, so I have no idea why this is happening. The tube the gas is coming out of is rubbery and black. I know that isn't much help, but I'm hoping somebody else has experienced this and will let me know what to do. Thank you ...Also, I have a service and repair manual, but I cannot find my problem in the book. The leak is not a steady stream, it's more like a dribble. This first photo is where the end of the tube is where the gas is dribbling out. If you notice how much gas is in the bowl it gives you a good idea of how much gas leaked out. However, more gas leaked out before I could add the bowl.
